Hall of Fame Classic
Part of National Collegiate Basketball Hall of Fame Weekend, the Hall of Fame Classic is the most exciting early-season college basketball tournament in the country. Eight teams from across the nation will compete in the 17th-annual event in 2017, with four of the top programs in the country serving as hosts. Host round action takes place in November with the four hosts advancing to the Championship rounds the following week at Sprint Center in Kansas City. The remainder of the field will participate in home and away games; every participating team is guaranteed four games.
The Hall of Fame Classic was created by the NABC in 2001 as the Guardians Classic, and was later known as the CBE Classic and the CBE Hall of Fame Classic. The event was rebranded as the Hall of Fame Classic in 2017.

National Collegiate Basketball Hall of Fame
The National Collegiate Basketball Hall of Fame was founded by the NABC Foundation to honor and celebrate those who have made extraordinary contributions to the game of men’s college basketball. Located at the College Basketball Experience in Kansas City, Mo., the National Collegiate Basketball Hall of Fame inducted its first class in November, 2006, with a Founding Class consisting of Dr. James Naismith, who invented the game; former University of North Carolina head coach Dean Smith; Oscar Robertson, considered by many to be the most outstanding all-around player in the history of college basketball while playing at Cincinnati; Bill Russell, who led the University of San Francisco to two NCAA championships and is one of the game’s greatest defensive players; and John Wooden, an All-America player at Purdue and long-time coach at UCLA, where he led the Bruins to 10 NCAA titles, including seven in a row.
Each year, a Blue Ribbon committee - composed of long-time coaches, administrators, former players, broadcasters and basketball writers - selects a class of inductees including players, coaches and contributors. The Founding Class of the National Collegiate Basketball Hall of Fame includes all individuals who have been previously inducted for men’s college basketball into the Naismith Memorial Basketball Hall of Fame.
College Basketball Experience
The College Basketball Experience is a highly-interactive college hoops fan facility that was founded by the NABC Foundation and opened October 17, 2007 . The CBE is the nation's only facility that celebrates, in its entirety, the sport of men's collegiate basketball. In its first year of operation, the CBE played host to over 100,000 visitors. The CBE includes the National Collegiate Basketball Hall of Fame, and is located adjacent to Sprint Center in downtown Kansas City.
Founded in 1927, the National Association of Basketball Coaches serves as a guardian of the game of basketball by furthering the best interests of the sport, as well as the players and coaches who participate.
The NABC currently has approximately 5,000 members consisting of university, college, junior college and high school coaches, with affiliate memberships afforded to athletic directors, other collegiate basketball team personnel and youth basketball coaches.
The NABC holds its annual convention and exhibition each spring in conjunction with the NCAA Men’s Final Four. NABC members converge on the Final Four city to participate in five days of meetings, professional development, networking, social events and the Final Four games.
The NABC is guided by four core values: advocacy, leadership, service and education.
The National Association of Basketball Coaches Foundation, Inc., was organized exclusively for charitable and educational purposes, and to support the charitable and education purposes of the National Association of Basketball Coaches (NABC).
The NABC Foundation operates the NABC Foundation Benevolent Fund, the College Basketball Experience (CBE), the National Collegiate Basketball Hall of Fame, and the annual Court of Honor Gala.
